Who do legislators represent?

Montana is small enough that legislators often know many of their constituents by name. Each House District represents about 11,000 people and each Senate District includes two House Districts.

But it’s worth getting a big picture look at each district. How many married couples are there with children in the district?

Nearly 300 bills live to see second house

Of the 759 bills introduced as of today, more than one-third have survived hearings and floor votes in the first house. Early March is the deadline for most general bills — those that don’t spend to raise money — to make it to the second chamber.
