The State-Tribal Relations Committee (STRC) is a liaison with tribal governments in Montana and encourages state-tribal and local government-tribal cooperation. STRC is the only bi-partisan committee this interim, according to Senate Bill 176, and has a total of 10 appointed legislative members.

STRC’s first meeting is July 19th where members will discuss the committee’s assigned study, House Joint Resolution 1, and decide other topics for the interim.

STRC’s statutory duties are in 5-5-229, MCA.

STRC members include: Sens. Bob Brown, Mike Fox, Jason Small, and Susan Webber, and Reps. Tony Brockman, Joe Read, Tyson Running Wolf, Lola Sheldon-Galloway, Frank Smith, and Sharon Stewart Peregoy.
