Recent technology improvements make it easier than ever for Montanans to monitor and participate in state government. For more than a decade, the Montana Legislature provided gavel to gavel television coverage of sessions as well as interim committee meetings and other state government events. But in response to the needs of legislators and the public due to Covid-19 concerns, the Montana Public Affairs Network significantly upgraded equipment and production of meetings and events. For the first time in 2021, all session committee meetings were streamed live and archived on video. Also new was the integration of remote testimony using Zoom. Montanans testified remotely and legislators also were able to participate and vote remotely.
