2020 Montana State Redistricting: So, what changed?

New maps and features are available for those wanting a visual perspective of the legislative district changes between the 2010 and 2020 redistricting cycles.

Recently added on the Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission (MDAC) website are slide view maps that compare the changes to the state’s legislative districts from the 2010 cycle to the recent 2020 cycle. By grabbing the slide bar, you can drag left to right and see easily the 2020 district lines and how they differ from the 2010 district lines. Those maps and other visual aids are found here, along with printable maps of each new senate and house district.

But which new senate and house districts are your new districts? There is a new look-up feature available on the final state legislative district map submitted to the Secretary of State that will allow you to view your district by address. Click the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the map and you’ll be taken to a street view of your new senate and house districts.

There are plenty of other resources and visual aids available on the MDAC website, but don’t be shy if you have questions. Reach out to the districting staff with inquiries about the redistricting process.
