The State Administration and Veterans’ Affairs Interim Committee (SAVA) provides administrative rule review, draft legislation review, program evaluation, and oversight for the Department of Administration (DOA), Montana Public Employee Retirement Administration (MPERA), Montana Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS), Montana Board of Investments, the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), Montana Veterans Affairs Division (Montana VA), the Office of the Secretary of State, and the Office of the Commissioner of Political Practices (COPP).

SAVA’s first meeting is July 21st, when members will discuss the committee’s assigned study, Senate Joint Resolution 4, and decide other topics for the interim.

The committee’s statutory duties are in 5-5-228, MCA.

SAVA members include: Sens. Mike Cuffe, Janet Ellis, Forrest Mandeville, and Wendy McKamey and Reps. Marta Bertoglio, Julie Dooling, Ross Fitzgerald, Gregory Frazer, Kelly Kortum, and Ed Stafman.
