The Economic Affairs Interim Committee (EAIC) conducts interim studies related to business, labor, and economic development. The committee also provides administrative rule review, draft legislation review, program evaluation, and oversight for the Department of Agriculture (MDA), the Department of Commerce, the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), the Department of Livestock (MDOL), the Office of the State Auditor and Insurance Commissioner, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Montana State Fund, the Division of Banking and Financial Institutions (DBFI), and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, and Cannabis Control Division (CCD) within the Department of Revenue (DOR).
EAIC has 10 appointed legislative members.

EAIC’s first meeting is July 11th where members will discuss the committee’s assigned study, Senate Joint Resolution 30, and decide other topics for the interim.

The committee’s statutory duties are in 5-5-223, MCA.

EAIC members are: Sens. Kenneth Bogner, Steve Fitzpatrick, Shane Morigeau, and Mark Noland and Reps. Johnathan Karlen, Josh Kassmier, Brandon Ler, Jennifer Lynch, Ron Marshall, and Nelly Nicol.
