Do you usually celebrate our nation’s independence with family, friends, fireworks, and grilled food? This year add to the fun by drawing a legislative district or 100 of them to celebrate July 4th. The Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission invites you to submit your proposals for new state legislative districts as part of the commission’s redistricting work.

New to redistricting or unsure of how to create a map? Free, online mapping tools have made it easier for everyone to participate in redistricting, including you. More information about the Montana state legislative redistricting process and how you can participate is available at the commission’s website.

Not interested in mapping but still want to chime in? View already submitted proposals and then provide feedback to the commissioners using the online comment form. Or attend an online or in-person public hearing in August and September to comment on the maps the commissioners draw.

The commission strongly encourages map submissions by July 15 so the maps can be considered before August 2nd, when the commissioners will release their own district proposals for the public hearings.
